Cookies

Today I have a recipe to share. Christmas is almost here and for all you bakers out there ,Here is one of my favorite recipes... sugar cookies...yum yum


  1 1/2  Cups flour
  1 1/2   Teaspoons baking powder
    1/4    Teaspoon salt
  1/2      Cup of butter
  1/2      Cup of sugar
  1         Egg yolk,sightly beaten
  3         Tablespoons milk
  1/2      Teaspoon vanilla

Stir flour,baking powder and salt together
Cream butter:add sugar gradually, beating between additions.
Add egg yolk; mix well. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk
Add vanilla
Chill dough thoroughly and then Roll 1/4 " thick on a lightly floured board
Cut with fancy cookie cutters (if you want) or just make circles.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in a moderate oven (375 degrees Fahrenheit)
8 to 10 minutes
Yields 3 dozen medium sized cookies.
You can add sprinkles too or dust with icing sugar.Coat with chocolate or just leave them plain.
